WORLD BEATHOVEN ENSEMBLE
The Bonn music project "World BEAThoven Ensemble" combines phrases from works by Ludwig van
Beethoven with global as well as electronic sounds.
The musicians HaJo Büsching (clarinet / Beethoven Orchestra Bonn), Thomas Kimmerle (saxophone,
director of the Youth Jazz Orchestra Bonn), Darius Roncoszek (sousaphone tuba, musician and producer)
and Felix Ohlert (effects and electronics, musician and producer) have different musical backgrounds, but
find a common musical language in their work. Not only do they place classical motifs in the context of
worldwide popular music, but they alienate the sound of their own instruments, along with electronics.
They also deal philosophically with issues of participation, inclusion and precision of modern music
making and performance.
The ensemble's first appearance took place during the reception of international guests at the COP23
(Bonn / November 2017).
